PORTFOLIO

Institutional Construction:

Stanly Regional Medical Center We built South Stanly High School and accomplished major additions to Central Elementary School and Albemarle High School. We are proudest, however, of our relationship with Pfeiffer University, in Misenheimer, North Carolina. The company founder, Dwight Stokes, began working with Pfeiffer College in the latter part of the 1950s. Over time, we have built and remodeled many campus class rooms and dormitories. In fact, we recently completed a multimillion dollar project that included renovating many of the dormitory bathrooms as well as the renovation of the Student Center. We continue to work to improve both the Misenheimer campus, as well as the Charlotte campuses.

Industrial Construction:

Industrial Construction In the early 1960's, we began working with ALCOA and Collins & Aikman Corporation (currently known as International Automotive Components). Over time, Wiscasset Mills, Albemarle Spinning Mills, Stanly Knitting Mills, Tow Dyeing Company, Jefferies Southern Processors, E.J. Snyder Company, Cassie Cotillion Company, Fieldcrest Cannon Incorporated, Cuddy Farms, Yadkin Incorporated, Norandal Incorporated, Fiber Composites Incorporated, U.S. Air Corporation, Richfield Manufacturing Company, Joan Fabrics, Snyders-Lance, and Michelin Aircraft Tire Company have been added to our client list.

While we have built well over one million square feet of new industrial construction, the company has been in greatest demand when the scope of work involves difficult, demanding, and precise work within existing and operating plants. In fact, Stokes Construction built a new plant on top of an old plant and then removed the old plant from under the new one without interrupting operations for even one day.

In all of our years of work, we have never missed a deadline or disappointed a customer with poor performance. Our safety record is excellent, and our staff is more experienced and highly trained than any company in the state.

Medical Construction:

Stanly Regional Medical Center We built our first medical office building in 1967. Since that time, we have built many free standing medical office buildings. Three of these buildings enclose 20,000 square feet and one encloses 50,000 square feet of space.

We have developed over 100 medical office suites. Including: The Roy Hinson Cancer Treatment Center, which includes a linear accelerator, MRI facilities at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg , Watauga Medical Center in Boone, and Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.

We acted as contractor / manager in a major overhaul of the Stanly Regional Medical Center campus in Albemarle. This work involved expanding parking lots, constructing a parking deck, exterior additions to all four sides of the hospital, increases to the electrical service, and interior renovation work. Our relationship with Stanly Regional continues today as they are now a part of Carolinas Healthcare Systems. This Stanly relationship is one of the proudest and most highly regarded in our long history.

We are also proud to be a part of the Carolinas Healthcare team as we continue to do more and more projects with them. We have completed several projects on their CMC Main campus in Charlotte, NC, and numerous projects in and around their Stanly Regional Campus.

We have been on the approved vendor list for Presbyterian Hospital for over ten years and have accomplished a number of projects for them over that period of time.

We have also worked for medical developers Meadows & Ohly and Criterion Healthcare.
